  Looks like its started!

  today while out shopping i met someone who used to be in the same congregation as me,but who hadn't been to a meeting for years.after chatting about families for a while he told me that he had just started going to meetings again.

  confused when i didn't seem overjoyed he asked if i was still going.he seemed genuinely shocked when i said no,but even more so when in response to his question i told him no,i'm not going back.his next comment i thought was quite telling.

  "what,not even with all the things happening in the world at the moment?".

  witnesses love this "sudden return when disaster strikes." why else would people return unless they knew it was the truth? it solidifies their belief that when armageddon comes, if you're not with Jah's bOrg, then you're doomed. i think it is very hypocritical of the people who do return after disasters because you can plainly see WHY they want to be associated with the society. for salvation and for salvation ONLY. but the friends welcome them back like they're a sincere prodigal son.

  Need info on the "new light" regarding B.Days and other "New Light"

  i got a call this morning from my son's ex-girlfriend.

  she and i are still friends and i have filled her in on the jw's believes and all the bs they call the truth.

  she is fairly young, 23 and very meek and mild.

  the only thing i ever saw that could loosely be considered new light on bdays/christmas is the april 8th, 2004 awake "from our readers"... it will sell very few Jdubs... but we all noticed it for what it's truly worth

  Cabbage Patch Dolls?

  looking at the smurf thread i was wondering, in my congregation in the 80's there were also storys of demonic cabbage patch dolls attacking jw kids.

  i wasn't allowed to have one because they might be demonized.

  was it just my cong.

  the only thing that is sure to NOT be demonized is publications produced by the watchtower bible and tract society. even many bibles are demonized because they have pictures of crosses on them. YA THAT'S RIGHT YOUR BIBLE IS DEMONIZED. NOW GO TO HELL. oh god hey guys remember being a witness?

  u know this is why ur all apostates and are going to die at armageddon. because u all have such bad attitudes towards big J's means of helping people live forever... HOW ELSE WILL THE PEOPLE KNOW UNLESS SOMEONE PREACHES??? come on u guys, button down, buckle up, take ur morning shot and get out into that life saving work! Jesus Christ, noah had to build an ark all week and then go preaching on the weekend. he had to deal with nephilem for God's sake. the least u could do is swallow ur worldly pride and get out 2 hours a week. we should thank Jesus that he didnt commission the angels to do it... it's OUR privelege... let's show him we're grateful for it. c'mon gang, we're gonna be late ;)

  Can this forum be considered "Group Therapy"

  you ever notice how people like to open up a part of themselves to the board.

  i think all these many different people from different backrounds but all sharing a common bond,, to be a good thing.

  i do feel a group like this would be worthy of a psychologist's attention.

  i think it depends on your approach... if it's used as a forum to perpetuate anger, it can be theraputic, but not in a healing sense, and nothing gets solved. i myself post and read posts mostly for a sense of closure and community. just knowing im not alone and that most of the people on this site have gone through way worse things than i did, helps me to appreciate that my parents raised me the best way they knew how. nobody in my family was or is out to get me. but they are a product of indoctrination. knowing this doesn't mean im not angry at the watchtower, and it certainly doesn't mean i don't fight for my right to believe what i want with my family. i guess im just lucky that my family will take the time to argue with me instead of just shunning me. i really feel bad for the people who can't express themselves in any way about their spiritual stance that happens to be non-jdub thinking... to me that would be one of the worst things to go through. but at least we can do it here. and even though we all believe different things here, we appreciate each others' rights to believe what we want. i think that's very theraputic.

  this is it guys! THIS IS IT! how can u guys have such a negative attitude when armageddon is soooooooo close? we could be sharing in this "final" campaign before the end comes. but no... we're too picky with doctrine and too busy with apostacy to give it a second thought. shame on us

  Remembering Halloween As A JW Kid . . .

  i remember my mom and my aunt making us kids open the door to the trick-or-treators and instead of giving them candy, we had to put wt and awake!

  magazines (back issues) in their bags.

  how embarrassing.. anyone else have the same experience?.

  ya we closed the lights and preteneded we weren't home... my mom still does that. the worst though, was the next day when all the kids were eating the candy they got and asking you where yours was. how the hell do you answer that when you're 6 years old. it would be easier to explain to them that with the amount of sugar they were eating, they were bound to get diabetes while at the same time making satan very happy for worshipping him for one evening

  The 2004 Report. What do you think it wiil show?

  having read "seven006" posting "the information age and new jw marketing changes" and the view it put forward of were the watchtower found itself now.. i was wondering what the 2004 service year report would show.

  i think there will be a small increase, due to there play on world events and the usually jw family members getting baptised to please parents etc.

  anyone else have any views on what it could be.

  mann377: that was angry and vague... u sound like an apostate! are u an apostate? do u hold signs outside of the convention and yell out slurs and slogans? the 2004 report is about the actual numbers that the society as a whole has produced over the year. im pretty sure that's the one thing they dont lie about... otherwise they wouldnt show that the number of annointed remnant is INCREASING... they would show it to stay the same or decrease.

  but overall, the fact that they're selling property here and there, AKA "simplifying", shows they may be decreasing in some numbers, maybe not in publishers, but maybe in magazine distribution overall. something to that effect...
